ADVANCING HAND IN HAND WITH INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS

The 11th SEASC (Southeast Asian Surveying Congress) and the 13th ISC(International Surveyors’ Congress), hosted by ASEAN FLAG (Association of Southeast Asian Nations, Federation of Land Surveying and Geomatics) and ISM (The Institution of Surveyors, Malaysia), was held in Kuala Lumpur during June 22nd to 24th. SOUTH was part of the event to show the latest technologies and products, with the local distributor, Top Systems.
 
More than 1000 representatives from 20 countries were merrily grouped together to discuss and exchange ideas about the research achievements and practical experience in the surveying related fields. Mr. Xu Yan Ying, Chief Engineer of the State Bureau of Surveying & Mapping and Geographic Information System, Mr. Liu Ji Yuan, Deputy Director of YunNan Bureau of Surveying &Mapping and the YunNan Science & Technology Association, attended the meeting and delivered a speech on the general situation of China surveying and mapping developments.


As China has been playing a more and more important role in the global stage in terms of the surveying industry, a China Forum was particularly organized for the delegates to acknowledge the great changes in recent decades. Mr. Han Yao, General Manager of the International Business Division of SOUTH, made a short speech entitled The Rise of Chinese Surveying Equipments.


The exhibition was mainly targeted at Southeast Asian market, yet the keen focus and dedication from the dynamic SOUTH members would expand it further and further.
