In COLUMBIA
SOUTH representatives made a trip to South America in May, the first stop is Columbia. We have 2 dealers there, GEOSYSTEM ING and TOPOEQUIPOS.
GEOSYSTEM is a young and dynamic company with a sales team very active and devoted. Especially they are very strong in the technical support to clients. All engineers and technicians have very detailed work division, like operation or repair or data transfer, everyone focuses on his own field thus each is very professional. They had a communication with SOUTH representatives on many technical points, after which both feel benefiting a lot. For our new models NTS960R and NTS360R, they like very much and think these instruments have high cost performance.
2 conferences on SOUTH and GEOSYSTEM were held in 2 universities, Universidad Gran Colombia and Universidad Catolica. More than 60 and 30 persons attended the 2 conferences respectively.
After the opening speech made by the General Manager of GEOSYSTEM, Mr. Edgar Mendoza, SOUTH representative introduced the development and products of SOUTH and made a presentation on the new total stations NTS960R and NTS360R. The presentation was warmly responded by the professors and students, they had a close look at these new models and ask many questions.
GEOSYSTEM also had an office in Panama. Every month they went to different cities visiting clients, making training and conferences, as a result their sales volume keeps increasing rapidly.
TOPOEQUIPOS was established in 1982, with 11 branches in Columbia and another 2 companies in Panama and Peru. They have a lot of experience in the market and service. The president Mr. Felix Pinto is also a very famous professor in university. A 2-day service training was made to the technicians to solve the technical problems.
South representatives also introduced the new total stations models to all the staff of Topoequipos. The engineers gave a highly praise on SOUTH new series total station NTS350R and NTS350L, according to the feedback from customers, they are much more stable than the old version NTS320 and NTS350. As for the latest model NTS360R and NTS960R, they were quite impressed by the new functions like SD card, USB interface and 300m measuring distance by laser, and were glad to see the rapid technological advancement of SOUTH, especially the WinCE platform. Besides, they gave us many good advices regarding the hardware and software, which is very valuable to us.
We believe that with the maturity of SOUTH products and good service provided by dealers, more and more people will accept SOUTH in Columbia.
In CHILE
From May 11 to 13, SOUTH visited the exclusive dealer CELESTRON in Santiago, Chile. CELESTRON has more than 20 years experience in the market and has 12 sub-dealers nationwide. SOUTH has been cooperated with CELESTRON since the year 2002.
A meeting for technicians from sub-dealers was held on the first day. These technicians have a lot of experience in repairing, they discussed about the technical points and shared with everyone their ideas. They even gave us some good suggestions on how to improve our instruments. SOUTH representative explained how to repair the new type total station (with absolute encoding and just one board in EDM part) and gave a review on the old model total station.
On the second day, the boss and sales from sub-dealers were invited to CELESTRON. First Mr. Luis San Jorge, the boss of CELESTRON, gave a summary on the business, including the market, sales, the achievement they have made and the challenges they are facing. Then Ms. Isabel Amengual introduced their product line.
At last SOUTH representative did a detailed presentation on the company SOUTH and our new product NTS360R, NTS960R. Dealers showed great interest in the new models and were very satisfied after trying to operate.
After the meeting, a small cocktail party was held, CELESTRON gave award to 2 dealers who did very well in the past.
On the last day, we went to the city Valparaiso visiting another dealer of CELESTRON.
This visit to Chile is very important to both SOUTH and CELESTRON after 7 years cooperation. We know more about each other and find out the problems that existing. Also the communication between SOUTH and clients gives more confidence to both sides, which is very helpful to expand the business.
