Carlson SurvCE training
The training of Carlson SurvCE for SOUTH European dealers was held in Guangzhou on March 27th 2013. Mr. Latova, a lecturer from Carlson Company, had made full preparation for this training. Dealers also paid much attention to the training as it is very popular in Europe.
At the beginning of the meeting, there's a products overview of Carlson Company, which made dealers have a preliminary understanding of products. Then Mr. Latova focused on the features and top sales points of SurvCE as well as Graphic function, Localization and single point correction (setup base on a known point or an unknown point).
With the help of SOUTH technician, dealers took more practice on GPS with SurvCE outdoor in the afternoon. Thanks to the preliminary knowledge in the morning, dealers felt the outdoor training is much easier. During practice time, they had mastered methods to set working mode on receiver and connection between receiver and controller through SurvCE, such as how to revise device name and device PIN during bonding Bluetooth, and how to switch Bluetooth connection between base and rover.
Dealers showed more interest in configuration of internal radio and parameters settings of accessing to CORS, thus, technician demonstrated to dealers step by step, and achieved the desired effect. In the remaining time, with the help of technician, dealers did more practice by themselves to deepen impression. Meanwhile, they put forward some doubt and professional questions to Mr. Latova and got satisfactory reply.
MicroSurvey supported in SOUTH
On March 28th, James WillamJonhston from MicroSurvey Software Inc. (Canada) made a training on the usage of FieldGenius, on both total station and GPS-RTK.
In the morning, James introduced how to install FieldGenius on South NTS-370R and put forward some matters that need to pay attention. The total station operational screen was projected to the white board, so it was more convenient to explain the operations. We used a rope as a road that was designed to S shape, or a road with line or arc. James explained how to connect the points into a line, how to collect arc lines and straight lines together, then displayed on the screen of TS. The trainees gave highly praise on the humanized operational interface and functions of FieldGenius. They were eager to learn more operations and skills, and also proposed some questions and feasible suggestions.
In the afternoon we prepared SOUTH RTK receiver S82V and S82T to make GPS training on field, James emphasized on the key functions of FieldGenius on RTK receiver. At the training, we used two RTK working modes, the first one was to set one S82V as a base station, using the internal radio of the S82V to emit, and set another S82V as a rover to receive. The other mode was to use the network mode of one S82T to connect to CORS. Because these two working modes are the most popular, customers were very interested in how to connect FieldGenius with RTK receiver, and the parameter settings, such as coordinates system setting, radio or network parameter setting, etc.
When all settings were done, James started to present how to collect point, line, to connect points into line, to collect and convert arcline and straight line（on the same line or not on the same line）, and to stake out, etc. Participants took part in the presentation and operation positively.
