VOL27 Appeared on the highest peak of South America

GALAXY G1 appeared on the highest peak of South America along with 5 members from China University of Geosciences mountaineering team, this is an opportunity to make a series of testing on SOUTH instruments at high altitudes region.

At around 12:00 local time on January 19th, 5 members of CUG mountaineering team successfully reached the highest peak of South America Mount Aconcagua, which at an altitude of 6964 meters.

During the process of 7 days climbing, the smaller and smart RTK "GALAXY G1", high precision GNSS tablet S550, high precision potable GNSS receiver S650 and hand-held RTK receiver S760 from South play an important role in this journey. It's worth mentioning that this is the second time for South to sponsor CUG mountaineering team since they reached the summit of Mount Everest in 2012.

This time, students and teachers from CUG did a series of testing related to South products, also simulated the high precision navigation and positioning according to the high altitude, complex areas, this laid the foundation to some extent for the security of climbing.

These days, South donated 100,000 yuan to support the "7+2 Mountaineering plan" of CUG, South will supply surveying equipment for the team as exclusive sponsor. This plan is aim to reach the highest peak of seven continents and explore the South Pole and North Pole. The nine points represent the poles of coordinate system on earth, also limit points and the highest state of ultimate adventure.
